BoardWalk Villas Resort

Disney's BoardWalk Resort (opened June 1996) is themed after seaside resorts and is very reminiscent of Atlantic City and other seaside resorts of the early 1900's. The BoardWalk Resort is very different than other DVC resorts in that the Vacation Club units are integrated with and side by side to the hotel portion. (The Villas are DVC units and the Inn has the hotel units). In addition, there is a conference/convention center associated with the Inn portion of the resort.

Upon entering the resort, there is a feeling of elegant-whimsy. Directly inside the main entrance is a circular sitting area with miniature replica of a carousel. Above this miniature is a full size carousel horses. To the left of this area is the main lobby of the resort. Here there is the check-in desk as well as a wonderful sitting area filled with overstuffed comfortable chairs. Off to one side of the lobby is the BoardWalk gift shop, Dundy's Sundries. Here you can buy all sorts of BoardWalk memorabilia.

Part of the appeal of the Boardwalk is a walkway that winds its way around Crescent Lake, connecting the BoardWalk with the Dolphin and Swan, as well as the Yacht and Beach Club. In addition, this walkway gives quick and easy access to Epcot.

Transportation

Watercraft are the highlight transportation method available at the resort. "Friendship" boats are available to transport guests to EPCOT and the Disney Studios. EPCOT is very close and within walking distance (entrance through the International Gateway). For those destinations not serviced by water, bus service is available.
