Resort Activities
The
Main Resort Pool- the Big Dipper, has the signature DVC resort water slide. This
one is a barrel-shaped water tower corkscrew type. There is also the
appropriately named Litter Dipper, for the kids.
Located
on the Atlantic Ocean is Disney's Beach House, a spacious 13,000-sq.-foot
recreational facility located on 3.5 acres of oceanfront with access to 12 miles
of wide beach approximately 1.5 miles from the Main Resort. Shuttle service is
provided between the Resort and Disney's Beach House. The beach is hard packed
sand and is great for walking and picking up shells. The beach house includes a
beautiful "H" shaped heated pool, a water play area with squirting
fountains, a game room, covered parking; Surfman's Sand Bar- poolside bar;
Signal's quick service counter offering lunch; Surfman's Station, a large
living-room style area with brick fireplace, big-screen TV, and home-like
furnishings.
Bicycles are available
for rental from the Resort. With the
hard packed sand, it is quite easy to ride on the beach.
The 300-foot fishing
pier stretches over scenic marshland into Broad Creek. Fishing poles are
available for rental and can be used here. In Broad Creek Mercantile, guests
will find a general store (where you can rent/borrow videos), there is a fitness
center, changing rooms and community hall. Other unique resort features include
a campfire circle and a dedicated arts-and-crafts area for on-site programs.
There are numerous
resort activities including scavenger hunt, art and cooking classes with Chef Gordon,
tours of Savannah, Georgia, aqua aerobics, resort nature walk, sunset
cruise, bingo, star gazing/campfire, beach house bash, marsh boat, adventures,
bird watching, the Disney sea turtle program, and dynamic dolphin discoveries.
