Monday

After dropping Karen off for her conference, dad and I walked over to the Ponderosa for their breakfast buffet. With a hotel discount $3.75 made a great deal for all of the food that was offered. After filling our tummies we drove to Animal Kingdom. First stop, the old Countdown to Extinction now renamed "Dinosaur". Having seen it rather recently and with a 90 minute wait, we opted out. The Dinosaur Jubilee was nice to get out of the sun as well as being informative.

Asia was next. This is the first time that I have been here since it’s opening. With the day gearing up to be a hot one, Kali River rapids wait time was just over an hour. Even with a FastPass, the wait time was over an hour. So we walked through the Maharajah jungle Trek. What a neat walk-through attraction. Contrary to previous visits, we got to see some of the animals. In addition, the architecture was phenomenal. The Disney Imagineers took some time and effort to make this area look authentic and old. Very good work here.

Lunch was at the Pizzafari and afterward a short walk to "It’s Tough to be a Bug". Then it was on to the Kilamanjaro Safari. Surprisingly this one was a walk-on! No wait at all. Again, a cooler day than previous visits and so more animals were out. I know that it is still rather new but they should do something about that corny dialogue between the truck driver and Wilson. It just seems to be getting slightly stale.

After the Safari, we walked through the Pagani Forest Exploration Trail And called it a day. We had plans to see my grandmother (dad’s mother) that evening and so it was back to the hotel for clean-up

Tuesday May 22nd.
