Day 1- Wednesday February 25, 2004

Wednesday was checkout day at the Wyndham but as a Wyndham by Request member, Stephen got a 2pm checkout for Karen. The weather in Orlando this February was very unpredictable. On Tuesday there were serious downpours several times during the day. Wednesday was very overcast and cool- no pool today again! Karen relaxed in the room until close to checkout time (Stephen had taken all luggage to the tradeshow with him). Around 2pm Karen walked over to the Marketplace (a very short walk from the Wyndham) and then over to OKW around 4pm. She got us checked into 1621- a vacation home not too far from Conch Flats. A very nice vacation home with a view of the golf course. Once again, we had to wonder if there was anyone else around because it was so quiet. Judging by the lights in the other vacation homes as well as the cars in the lot there were others. OKW must be designed and built in such as way that noise from the other vacation homes can’t be heard! Always adds to a relaxing vacation.

After the tradeshow ended, Stephen joined Karen in 1621 and the vacation part of the trip began! After changing into warmer clothes, we made our way over to the Beach Club for dinner at Beaches and Cream. The resort was a bit crowded and we had about a 20 minute wait. The food was very good. We got to see two families order the “Kitchen Sink”. One was a 6 year old boy who had HUGE eyes when it was delivered.

After dinner we walked around the boardwalk and over to the Boardwalk were we had ice cream at Seashore Sweets (apparently everyone just getting out of Illumuninations had the same idea). With dessert in hand we finished our walk around the lake and then visited the Beach Club gift shop. Afterwards we got our car back from valet parking and made our way back to our vacation home. Since it was so chilly outside and we needed a bit of relaxing, we enjoyed the whirlpool tub! Shortly after we both fell into a deep sleep!
