Day 6

Thursday October 6, 2005

Karen awoke today feeling a bit better. She had a full night's rests- something that sadly doesn't happen in a hospital. We packed up our stuff and met dad at the McDonald's in the Marketplace for breakfast. We arrived at 11:10 to find out that only lunch was being served. A burger for breakfast,..hmmm guess it's vacation. Afterwards we made our way to OKW to check out the vacation home that underwent special cleaning for us. We were given 2611- our fourth OKW vacation home, fifth Orlando vacation home and Karen's 7th (including her two hospital vacation homes). After quickly checking it out, I let Karen do a more thorough inspection. We certainly didn't want a trip on Mickey's fastest ride (i.e. Reedy Creek Ambulance). She gave it the thumbs up! Dad and I moved all of our stuff into the new vacation home and let Karen get comfortable for a nap. We left her and went for a quick trip to MK. As we approached the MK monorail station the rain began to fall. By the time we were walking up Main Street, the rain really began to fall. We ducked into the Main Street shops and bought a few cheer-up gifts for Karen. We stopped at the ice cream shop for a treat. We took the ferry back to the TTC, got the car and then made our way back to OKW. Karen had been napping and was resting comfortably. Maybe we could get a day or two out of this vacation after all! Dad packed up and left for home. His two-day visit turned into a six-day vacation. He had certainly made the past few days easier.

For dinner tonight we ordered from the Olivia's take-out menu from Good's To Go. While I waited for the food, I made a few purchases in Conch Flats General Store including the new DVC watch. We ate back at in our vacation home.
