Monday 10/4/99- HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
Today is the two year anniversary of our wedding. What better place to spend it but at DVC, especially since the honeymoon (you can find this elsewhere on our site) was spent at OKW!
Today’s weather was cloudier than the weekend but enough to stay warm and enjoy the pool. With our sunburn it was just as well.
After breakfast- to the pool! What a difference in the number of folks. There were probably 25% of those that were around over the weekend.
During the day at the pool we began to realize that this would be our last full day at VB. Getting all nostalgic we decided to call Member Services to see if we could extend for a day! Sure enough, we delayed our return to reality for an additional day, leaving on Wednesday.
For a special dinner, we had made reservations at Sonya’s. We had never been before and looked forward to a great dinner. We arrived as the first guests of the evening and were brought to our table. When making the reservations, we told them of the occasion. On our table there were all sorts of glitter and glitter words (congrats etc.) and smiley faces. What a nice touch. Our server Helen was excellent! She was warm, friendly, attentive and very personable. She liked the sweater skirt that Karen had on and even joked that she was going to swipe it before the night was over. During the dinner a violent thunderstorm came up and a couple of times during the dinner the lights went out. When Helen came around after the lights came back on Karen asked her is she had caused it so as to be able to take the sweater. She gave such a hearty laugh!
Desert was on Mickey! A complimentary chocolate mouse (oops, sorry Mickey, chocolate mousse) cake with the words "Happy Anniversary" written on it! Dinner, dessert and the service were all EXCELENT! We highly recommend Sonya’s for a nice dinner.
