Exchanging out

Options include the Grand Floridian Beach Resort, The Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, The Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge. The Disneyland Hotel in California and Disneyland Paris are also choices.

If you choose to exchange out of the DVC network, then choices become numerous. DVC has established a relationship with Intervals International (an international time-share swapping organization). DVC members may "trade" a week at their home DVC resort for a week at another resort. A fee is charged for the service ($85/trade) but it permits you to stay at non-Disney resorts around the US, Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Europe. Cruises and African Safaris are also available. Smaller stays may be arranged at some of the Bed-and-Breakfast locations. After looking over the choices in the DVC Member Guidebook, you quickly realize that these are four-to-five star resorts.

After some delay, July of 1998 marks the maiden voyage of the "Disney Magic", the first cruise ship owned and operated by Disney. Vacation Points may be traded out for this as well.
